Couper et Coudre bags are handmade from vegetable tanned leather.

As leather is natural material, each bag will have different characteristics or grain patterns; every one is unique and imperfections are embraced.

Every piece of vegetable tanned leather will have individual characteristics, the leather will continue to gather signs of daily wear with time. This is the beauty of natural vegetable tanned leather.

With exposure to water and sunlight, natural vegetable tanned leather becomes darker and gather marks. This ageing process is completely natural and it shows how loved an item is and how long it has been used for ~ something to be valued and cherished.

With time, your bag will tell your story. By keeping loved items for as long as possible and we will have a collection of pieces that tell our story and makes every item feel even more personal and loved.

To help with the future care of your bag, a tin of leather balm and a dust bag is included with every bag order. You can rub the balm onto the leather with a sponge or soft cloth and let it sink in for a couple of minutes before buffing the bag with a clean soft cloth.

Don't worry about light rain on the bag, this will fade as the leather dries.
You can also use spit clean or use an ever so slightly damp cloth to help minimise any scuffs or light scratches. Rub the marks on the leather in a circular motion to remove them.

When not in use ~ store your bag away from sunlight in the dust bag provided.
