Celebrating texture, natural materials and the handcrafted.

Our name Couper -et- Coudre comes from the French verbs meaning 'to cut' & 'to sew' and gives a nod to our handcrafted philosophy. A desire to work in a sustainable way and create items that are well made and will stand the test of time.

Started by Fleurie Thomas in 2017, Couper et Coudre (C -et- C) originally began as a  leather-craft studio.

Our space has now evolved into a jewellery studio and platform to celebrate handcrafted accessories made by local craftswomen and makers.

Beaded jewellery and vegetable tanned leather belts are made by us in house.

Everything else is handmade and shipped directly from the makers ~ straight from their hands to yours.

After studying Textile Design at Central Saint Martins and working in the Interiors industry for a number of years, Fleur decided to merge the study of materials, space and shapes to make and source designs for people who are looking for well made and unique accessories to use for many years to come.

With a belief that our environment has the power shift our mood and when created mindfully can increase feelings of well-being, Fleur believes in surrounding ourselves with pieces we love and that 'beautiful objects with a purpose' can elevate our everyday.

Fleur also creates digital sewing patterns for the sewing community and since 2020 has been studying nutrition, gut health & fermentation. You can find her adventure into working with food as medicine here and new substack here.
